Research Interests As a biologist, I am interested in the diversity and distribution of organisms, particularly amphibians and reptiles, and investigating the underlying factors that have shaped each. In practice, this translates into a wide realm of study encompassing taxonomy, systematics, phylogeography, ecology, evolution, speciation, and conservation.

Professional Appointments Biologist III, November 2008 – March 2012, Guam Arctic Slope Regional Corporation, under contract to USGS Brown Treesnake Project Surveyed a study population of brown treesnakes using visual encounter and radio telemetry to help assess the efficacy of mitigation practices directed at containing and eradicating this invasive predator. Other duties included conducting surveys of reptilian and mammalian prey species, performing necropsies to evaluate prey consumption, assess health, and determine reproductive condition, preserving herpetological specimens, and presenting brown treesnake ecology and research to students at local primary schools.
Biological Research Technician, June 2007– October 2008, Colorado Colorado Division of Wildlife, Bats/Inactive Mines Program Critical habitat and usage surveys for bats throughout the state with an emphasis on Townsend’s big-eared bat (Corynorhinus townsendi).
Student Curatorial Assistant, October 2006 – May 2007, Colorado University of Colorado Museum of Natural History Maintained and curated a vertebrate collection primarily composed of reptiles and amphibians. The work included identifying, inventorying, accessioning, cataloging, and tagging specimens.
Field Technician, September 2004 – March 2007, Colorado Meaney and Company Small mammal surveys for Preble’s meadow jumping mouse (Zapus hudsonius preblei). Duties included designing and monitoring a remote camera study to detect movements between habitats, conducting vegetation surveys and habitat assessments, and live trapping to estimate presence and abundance.
Field Technician, Seasonally August 2002 – July 2007, Colorado Ensight Technical Services Inc. Small mammal surveys to determine the presence and persistence of the threatened Preble’s meadow jumping mouse (Zapus hudsonius preblei).
